Today was a shopping day! A fellow artist & I took the bus to the next town. It’s called Saudarkrokur. Yes, that’s a mouthful. It’s larger than Blonduos but very walkable. We went to the local thrift store. They have such fun thrift stores in Iceland! We ate at a restaurant and then yarn ho!!

We found what I would describe as an Icelandic Walmart. Lol. It felt like civilization compared to being in the studio everyday. It was a nice change of scenery. The bus ride there was stunning and the countryside is speckled with white balls of fluff (sheep) and horses.

The sheep roam free here in Iceland. Drivers have to be very careful and not hit them. If you kill/injure a sheep, you have to report it. (There is also a large fine). But you are required to report it because if the sheep has babies, they can rescue the lambs and find a surrogate mother for them. They are very serious about sheep here. And who can blame them….WOOL!
